Pretty much always some surprises when working with fiberglass parts, question is how big a surprise. As stated above fitment can vary by supplier.. but also from car to car dependent upon how its tweeked. I've worked on enough 911's to notice that fit and finish details can vary from car to car.. and I'm talking about NON-accident vehicles, one that's been tapped can be a whole different set of fitment issues.. or not. That being said.. it shouldn't be too bad. One think you want to do when your parts arrive is to check for spider webbing or hairline cracks in the gel-coat. Hold the backside of the item up to the light and look for these.. you may want cut into that area and fill & finish before prime and paint as these will "suck down" the material and always be there under the painted finish. Its not difficult to do, and is not necessarily an issue with the manufacturer.. its more the nature of fiberglass parts, some more than others.

These are my favorite bumpers for these cars. I have the rear bumper, need the front. If anyone has one that they are not using, please pm me.
Hopefully this thread will continue. |

My Yellowbird CTR1 tribute project will be up for sale this week. Divorce is forcing the sale unfortunately.
The car has had many upgrades including extensive body work, chassis, bolt in cage, big brakes.... Some of the upgrades have been documented here on the forums. It will be sold as a rolling chassis as the engine and transmission is not available. I will list it tonight in the for sale forum with the full listing of what it has and what comes with it. Hopefully one of the members here will continue the build. Yellowbird CTR Tribute Project ![]() Last edited by Slider79SC; 01-15-2016 at 06:16 AM.. |

Hemmings has an '88 Ruf VIN BTR for $250,000 (OBO) if you're feeling generous.

Hi,
I'd please like to get your advice on a modification of the 85 litre tank to have a capacity of 110 litres like the tank optionally provided by Ruf for the CTR and BTR. Since theresn't an awful lot of posts of myself in here, I'd like to introduce myself shortly: I live in Germany and own my 911 since about 20 years. Step by step, I've been converting it to look like a Ruf BTR and increased its engine power to be close to aspirated 300 bhp. I'll share any more detail upon request here ![]() Now, would anyone of you please be able to help me with the 110 litre tank conversion? Got a spare "old" 85 tank that might be converted and looking for a Company that is willing to do it, please see before and after pictures enclosed. Thanks. Cheers, Frank https://onedrive.live.com/redir?resid=1E61DB418BE3073E!112&authkey=!AGmTlSFeKF7opag&v=3&ithint=photo%2cjpg https://onedrive.live.com/redir?resid=1E61DB418BE3073E!113&authkey=!AOjn77xmKwd-vZU&v=3&ithint=photo%2cjpg |
