I see. I hope I can check out your cars in Manila during my annual visits during the Holy Week.

Yesterday at Geneva Concours (Chi/PCA)

The show this year was a real treat. Great cars, Great weather, Great car fans, and Great Food! A lot of people liked my RUF conversion. Thanks to this Thread for all of the ideas I picked up for my car.

This thread is awesome, guys. Just a heads up though, Pelican is now starting to offer RUF parts. Our selection is a little limited at this point but more should be trickling into the catalog over the next few weeks. Of particular interest to air-cooled enthusiasts:

RUF 7mm Wheel Spacers for Air-Cooled Porsches

We also have pedal sets, dead pedals, shift knobs, and sill plates available for the 986, 996, and 997 cars. Check them out!

My RUF Conversion

To Pelican Parts:

I think, considering all of the engine parts, transaxle parts, suspension parts, etc etc, that my clone should be called a Pelican instead of a Porsche.

What did not come from Pelican new, came from the classified section on PP. Thanks, Wayne, for the really unique service to the Porsche rebuilding community.

I'd like to state, personally, that working at Pelican has been an amazing experience so far thanks, in large part, to the community that has sprung up around it. You are all such an amazing wealth of knowledge and feedback and any business would be lucky to have the kind of loyal customer base that Pelican does. Also, I'd like to say that we are all enthusiasts working here, but sometimes you guys out in the world come across parts and vendors that maybe we've never heard of and if you can think of ways to improve our catalogs then don't hesitate to let me know.

Sent you a PM regarding parts sourcing for a common modification to CV joints/axles

The latest addition to my RUF conversion

Well, I am going to show this to all of you. I wanted this wheel and got it and installed it. And I am having mixed feelings about it. It gives a vintage look, but . . .

Tell me what you think.

The Nardi is a nice wheel.. in another car.

I have just never liked the look of a wood wheel in a Porsche..

Where can I get, or who makes, a knock off front RUF style valance. I want to keep the standard bumper and replace the valance with a urethane ruf style one.

Thanks

Ruf scr 3.4

Gentlemen,
Here is a short intro to my RUF SCR 34 (3.4) conversion. After more than 2 years sourcing original parts (i.e. front valence, wheels, rear valence, decklid), we finally finished this little red monster this past summer.

Has correct 3.4 Liter engine, 915 gearbox (with oil cooling), seats and gauges for an SCR, albeit the "34". It dynoed at 268 DIN horsepower this summer and is an absolute blast to drive, especially in the Dolomites.

Sadly, it looks like I'll have to thin the herd this winter and my personal dreamcar (this one) may have to go...
