That logger uses the CAN bus in newer cars so not applicable to your aircooled 911s.
The CAN bus is a network (something like the internet) that lets the various computers in a modern car communicate with each other. Some of the later Porsche even have steering angle sensors in addition to the usual things like RPM. All this information is transmitted of the cars network and if you "tap" the network with a data logger you can "listen in"/record all the data.

KMS Can Display unit
Chris,Thanks for the feedback.
I do have the KMSP MP 25 ECU controlling the 3.6 L in the 86 Carrera The unit seems quite functional for a compact version of the AIM displays . It has the readout features that can keep you immediately aware of engine issues (4 programable inputs), but unlike the AIM units ,does not give you track data. track data. Engine trouble is more important to me than track data, which will cost twice or almost twice as much, 429 fir the KMS Can display versus 700 bucks for Aim solo DL unit
