My second RSR project just got back from the paint shop. My friend Freeman Thomas did the design to mimic the 917 "Hippie" race car. We started reassembly today. The motor will be like the first one I did with a Rothsport 3.5 motor. It looks totally MFI but it is stealth EFI, by looking at it you would never know. I was at Rothsport a few weeks back and Jeff showed me your stealth EFI disguised as MFI. I didn't see that coming. Sweet. I'd say there was even a little twinkle in his eye when he showed it to me.

I was wondering what happened with your builds! Its great to see an update from you. Hopefully we get to see more soon :)

Jon was there any prep before painting the undercoating in the wheel wells and was it just the normal paint you used to paint the car? Beautiful job

It was all scraped and wire brushed to remove all the old undercoating. Then media blast and epoxy coat. Then wurth undercoating was used that is paintable. It was painted with single stage glasurit. The body was painted with 2 stage.

Times like this is when I wish I was rich. lol

Reminds me of the old saying "wish I was born rich instead of good looking" LOL.

But seriously, obviously even though omgjon is obviously well heeled, he's also got great taste and spending his money wisely.

Chances are his success and wealth came from hard work and perseverance and what we are seeing is his hard-earned rewards.

Clever! I'm pretty sure I can deduce from that picture what's going on there. The missing MFI drive wheel on the back of the left cam is a big fat clue :)

You guys should also check out OMG's Ferrari Dino restorations in the 246 section of ferrarichat dot com. Jon has set benchmarks not only in the quality of his work, but also the organization and processes he uses...I guess we'd call it project management.

Ridiculous, is the only word that comes to mind seeing this build come together.

Can you share some details on that motor? When I win the lotto that is the motor I plan on building. High TB stacks with injectors that look like MFI but have the modern EFI control and a 12 plug distributor.:eek:

I am just amazed at the talents of some people. Love the colour of the under carriage.

I really like the fuel pump install. I haven't seen it done like that before.

The selection of parts, attention to detail and ultimate craftsmanship ... this is not a "build", it the creation of art.
