Also does this car have stainless steel exhaust? it looks stock but sounds really good and diff from any other 77 i've had..I'm a bit new to the air cooled so need some help here..thanks

Not sure what "rod/bushings" your are talking about, maybe circle them for us?

As far as exhaust, put a magnet to it compared to steel part and you will quickly tell

The oil return tubes you circled are not stock - they were installed at some point when the o-rings for the original, solid tubes were leaking and replaced (the collapsible tubes allow o-ring replacement without having to remove, and partially disassemble the engine's top end).

Also regarding the exhaust question - the header portions (the sections that are also in your circles) are pieces that were used to replace the original thermal reactors (not stock) . . . not sure if you were asking about those, however.

Thanks so much, these are the exact things i was asking about. So this car has no thermal reactors but has "headers" or a custom exhaust? lol..is that how i explain it? hehe...and do those new oil return tubes indicate engine may have had a top end rebuild? thanks

nothing wrong with using collapsable oil return tubes, and not something to worry about if they're not leaking.

Thermal reactors and 2.7 liter magnesium engines were a bad combo, caused excessive heat and engine problems. Good that they were removed -- how many blades does your engine fan have? Believe these cars came with a 5 blade fan (which didn't cool as well as the 11 blade fan used before and after) -- replacing the 5 blade fan with a 11 blade fan was another good preventative update.

As for the oil return tubes, no, since the collapsable oil return tubes can be installed without removing the heads/engine/etc., their existence does not suggest or confirm that a top end was (or was not) done.

Often the extra sound comes from the three pipes weld breaking or cracking right where they come together.

Lot of performance left on the table with that exhaust system. It is already set up for dual inlet so replace those awful exchangers with headers or early exchangers.

Hi Tarek..looks like a nice car.Someone has taking care of it well. The (aluminium) oil return tubes were introduced back in the 1980`s by performance products in Van Nuys California today known as Automotion. It was a cheaper version those days for the original factory oil return tubes.
You do not need to do anything with them now.Once they will be leaking get the original tubes .Not to expensive these days.
The muffler i remember had a nice deep sound as it was on my 77 911S before i moved to Europe
So enjoy it ,....nice 911
