Question Gearbox types?

So how many 911 (basic) gearbox types are there?

901 1963-1971
915 1972-1986
G50 1987-1989
G64 1990-1994 (964 Carrera 2) ????
G50/G50 ?????

What did a 964 Carrera 4 have? And what about 993 models?

Odd as it sounds, there was also a '911' between the '901' and the '915.'

Goran, I tried to keep the turbos out of this in order not to be confused Oh well, Jack did it. Now I'm confused?

A type 911 gearbox...? Hmmm.

Even worse; as far as I know there were several different 915 versions and the same probably goes for the 901. I'm just interested in the basic types, not how many variants have been made of each type.

911 was for 70-71. It had the same pattern as the 901, but had a clutch like the 915.

See this thread for more info on it.
