I am in mid restoration of my 73 911T. It has just been painted a beautiful red and it is now time to put the windows back in. The windows unfortunately have quite a few scraches on the Chorme or I believe I should say anodized aluminum. Anyone know any tricks of the trade to get these scratches out? Name brands would be greatly appreciated. (where you can buy them too!)
Thanks, NMCM ![]() |

There was a post, actually a thread, on the 914 BBS this month about the very same topic. I looked for 10 minutes to find it for you. Maybe it's on the regional (I only read CA and West).
But the gist of it was to sand the trim pieces with 400 grit wet or dry, folowed by 600, 800 and on down to 2000. Availble at auto paint stores. After the 2000, you can wax it. Now, this beats polishing, IMHO, because you get a better than satin finish, but not chrome like. Just right. |

Hey thanks for the reply.
Satin finish sounds nice. Is it the only alternative or is there a way to keep the chrome style finish? NMCM |
