Is anyone running 15" Fuchs (7s & 8s)
Is anyone running 15" Fuchs (7s & 8s)?
I just switched from 16" Fuchs (6's & 7's) to 15" Fuchs (7s & 8s). I thought switching from 6 & 7 to 7 & 8 that it would " fill up" the fenders more than it appears to have. Is anyone running 15" fuchs, 7 & 8's using spacers? And if so, what size? Thanks |

I run 9mm spacers in the rear. As for the 7/8's not filling up the fenders more, it's also a function of wheel offset. The 8" offset is probably different than the 7".

7 ET23.3 front and 8 ET10.6 rear are what is needed to start w/ once the car is lowered the front is unlikely to allow spacers, the rear(w/ SC/Carrera flares) is much more roomy and will usually allow up to ~10mm spacer, but it also depends on the suspension setup and specific tire profile

Thank you. One of the 7's is clearly stamped 7 J X 15 ET 23.3 The 8's are not stamped in a similar way....only stamped 8 J X 15...but on the same wheel is also stamped 911.361.020.12 and then underneath that AS10.62 Not sure what all this means. The tire I went with (at your recommendation) is: Toyo R1R 205/50/15 & 225/45/15 My car is an 83' SC I need to eliminate some of the gap between the tire & fender created by switching from a 16" to a 15" which you were helpful on in a different post (Euro Ride Height) I am wondering if spacers in the rear might help give it a "fuller" look. Oh, by the way, what is ET stand for? Pardon my ignorance Thanks again |

I think you will need more sidewall to fill out the fenders. I'm running 195-65-15 and 215-60-15 on the original 15" wheels, no spacers, but lowered a bit. Fenders are filled out nicely.

911.361.020.12 is a 911 8 ET10.6 so you have the correct wheels it's just that the shorter 15s leave ~1" more room at between the top of the tire and the fenders. The solution is to lower the car ~1" which can safely be done but you need to add a rack spacer when you do so. there are no 944 part # wheels which are 8x15, if there were they would start 944.xxx.xxx.xx, some early 944 used a 911 8x15 wheel but that is still 8ET10.6

I have 15" x 7 Fuchs on front and rear but use a 15mm spacer in the rear to clear oil lines on a somewhat modified Elephant Racing oil cooling system. That forced me to roll the rear fenders. The process turned out well with no paint cracking and the tires no longer rub!! So 9mm spacers might be about right for you.
I'm sure you know that when you add a spacer you'll need to purchase longer wheel studs by the thickness of the spacer. The old ones press out fairly easily. Tom |

you need to add a rack spacer when you do so.
The car was already lowered by the previous owner. Is it possible they installed a rack space or when they lowered it before? How would I know? |

sooooo....if rack spacers were used the last time it was lowered, will those suffice to bring it down an additional 1". Or will it need additional spacers?

There is only room for 1 ~15mm spacer
