anyone have a 81-83 SC engine out of their car? have questions

well my 82SC engine out and I am putting stuff back together...2 questions

1) there is a brass colored metal bracket holding up the blower motor for the heater fan...on this bracket there are a couple of thinner pieces of metal that jut out toward the drivers side...mine have been empty since I bought the car...but there are screws holes and such...so I am wondering if I am missing something

2) out of the back of the throttle body there is a short vacuum tube that runs out and connects to a T-connector one end goes to the pass side and connects to one of those UFO brass colored things the other side goes to the drivers side but connect to what??

Thanks

MJ

I know what you are talking about on the bracket. There were different ways of attaching the booster blower hose that feeds the squirrel cage, I’m pretty sure that is what the extra brackets are for.

The vacuum line in question will attach to the cruise control servo that is mounted by the shock tower. Shoot me your email address and I will send you some very detailed clean shots of both an 81 and an 82 3.0.

MJ, while arsing around w/ my engine last weekend (its still in the car but may come out soon to replace the airbox) I noticed the exact same things. I'm not sure if my vacuum-hose-to-nowhere was always hanging lose, or if I inadvertently knocked it off while replacing the hood shocks.
