Lee-
As the first Pelican I met personally after becoming acquainted on the Board, I can tell you that you embody the things that make this a great forum and clubhouse. Best of luck with the wife, and the next 911 will be cooler b/c you and she can pick it out and trick it out together. Best, JP |
Sorry to hear your leaving Lee. When I saw your name next to a thread I always took the time to read it because I new I would either learn something or get a good laugh.
Best of luck in your endevours! |
DON'T BE A STRANGER HERE, LEE!
|
Sorry to hear you are leaving O Great SCWDP Leader. The force is strong with you. For this reason, the absence of your metallic extension of your soul will haunt you like no other. A reflection off a bus window, the raspy exhaust, the teardrop sillohuette you didn't quite catch in your side vision will force you to involuntarilly turn your head to catch the ghost that you let go. It will never go away and can never be fully replaced so don't even try. Say goodbye to your car, your friend, your automotive lover with a ceremony of sorts to give your mind some closure it will need to deal with this loss. Then move on with your life until your personal circumstances allow you to reenter this Porsche realm only a few can possibly understand. Make sure you pass on this site to the new owner of your 911 so we can keep tabs on it.

Trust me when I say that I won't be going anywhere... you have no idea how emotional this has been for me.
The car probably won't sell anytime soon. I have very little faith in the market right now. I will still rely on the PP board for most of my work day entertainment. So, I won't be going anywhere even if the car sells. So, don't act like i'm going anywhere. :) |
Good luck with the sale and this next exciting phase of your life. Cars come and go. Do what you gotta do.
You'll be back when the time is right. Best wishes. |
You know, Lee, if I had posted an identical topic, I would be thrilled to get two replies. Three pages? What a guy!
|
If I had to choose between a house and a Porsche, I'd choose the house in a heartbeat. Homes can be a tremendous source of enjoyment, just like Porsches. It's a great feeling working out in the yard together on a project or sitting and appreciating a tree you just planted.
Congrats on finding the right lady! |

Here's a different perspective for you: my wife just saw this thread and wondered how the leader of the SCWDP can possibly be selling his car and said there has to be a way they can make it work - how about selling the engagement ring?
Best of luck but please don't go over to the dark side and return in a 3.2. |
Leland:
Man, I hate to see you go from the flock, even if it is temporary (it IS temporary!!) But it sound sliek you'll still be around, so we'll have to keep an eye out for a suitable replacement for you. If it worked for nostatic, it will work for anyone! Please don't be a stranger, and anytime you want a ride and your in Ohio, look me up!! Chuck |
Lee, what we're saying here? Even if you decide to be without Porsche, don't leave us...we'd miss you.
|

The Pateman has left the building. I have a tear in my eye. I really want to let you know that you bring alot to this board and I believe that i can speak for everyone that your backlash to all un SC owners will nopt be forgotten and that we, the proud SCWDP members will not let our leader down.http://www.pelicanparts.com/support/smileys/wat5.gif[/img] By the way how much did you want for your wheels?:p [img] |
Good decision mate.......I'm sure you've done the right thing.
Time to join the Porsche-less massive ;) |
wow, i've been away for a while and just thought i'd pop in for a quick read and never thought i would see this.
you gotta do what you gotta do.... |
Lee.. I been through exactly the same situation.. when my wife and I started out we made allot of sacrifices. Selling off My toys one by one saving every extra penny till we we able to meet our goals "The Home" and "The Kids" Three to be exact.. and then the Dog.. All in all life has been good..We have been blessed.
What your doing is showing your commitment to your goals and devotion to your new wife and a long and prosperous life together. I have no doubt that life will be good to you as long as you stay focused. And as for the P-Car.. you will again achieve ownership. Who ever the lucky person is that acquires your pride and joy will be very fortunate. Jorge (Targa Dude) PS..Hurry back |
