low oil temp front oil cooler sensor p/n please
the oil temp sensor/switch in this carrera oil cooler has p/n 930.606.118.00 and turns on the cooling fan at 250 degrees F...!!! OUCH... too hot...
I can't find my notes of the lower temperature sensor... a lot lower temp same style sensor that screws into the front oil cooler... thx in advance for any help... bob

just found the bmw p/n for the 82 degree C sensor but this sensor has 2 male push on spade posts on top of it vs the one round male post on the porsche sensor...
Q: does anyone know if I used just one of the spade connectors on the bmw sensor, cut off the black molded female connector used for the porsche wire sensor harness and crimped on a female spade connector in its place to get me connected to one of the male spades, would this set up work...? ...The bmw sensor p/n is 61-31-13-64-272.... thank you...))

You need to connect both sides. Cut off the post connector on the black wire and crimp on a female spade. Connect it to one side. Cut off the ground connector that is bolted to the boss opposite the sensor, crimp on another female spade and connect it to the other side.

Jr... sounds promising... did you do this set up or did you "hear" that your way works...?
Also. Is this circuit live when the ignition is turned off = I don't want the fan to keep running after has been shut off and kill battery/run till temp gets below the 180 degrees...? Thx for the encouraging info ... Gerry, Thx also but not a low enough temp switch if I am thinking this thru correctly...

Thx Gerry... as I just explained in my pm reply to you, the car has a factory front oil cooler and factory fan mounted to the cooler...
*** what I am trying to achieve is replace the factory sensor with a lower temp one as waiting till the oil temp gets to 250f before the cooling fan comes on is in my opinion and I would guess most people's too hot to let the oil get... Thus, I need a lower temp rated sensor to replace what is in cooler now... Also, if I am missing something here please chime in... I agree oil needs to get hot to cook out moisture in it but waiting till oil fAn comes on at 250 seems too hi... Any and all info welcome. Thx
