Singer wheel lug studs & nuts?
I took this picture of a Singer wheel a while back. I'd like to replicate this look. Any guesses at how long these studs are?
Also anyone know where I could buy open lug nuts in a yellow chromate finish? Thanks in advance... ![]()

Those are the same as VW Beetle nuts, 14mm threads. Porsche-Style Nut -14mm-1.5, Set of 5: VW Parts | JBugs.com

Magnus Walker does something similar with the stud length, I looked it up at one stage and I think he uses 72mm studs. A bit of googling around that should probably find the answer ...

Didn't know that was a thing. I have extra long studs on my 930 and opened ended nuts like the ones pictured and it drives me nuts (pun intended).

Thanks, Gordon and Simon. That helps.
I assume a regular deep 19mm socket is long enough. I wonder if a shorter stud is used in front? Oyagi, if you don't mind me asking, what drives you nuts about it? I always thought that was 'normal' for the RSR wheels.

I'm not sure if the factory studs are different lengths front vs. rear on an '87 Carrera, but just today I had my wheels off and tried an open nut to see how much of the stud protruded past. Both front and rear were identical at probably about 2 mm past the end of the nut.

Thanks, Kevin.
I am running 7.5 & 9/17 Linea Corse Fuchs. My rear tire is a 255/40 and the Singer is running a 265/40. The 265 was pretty stretched, so I'm guessing it was a 10x17 wheel on the rear. No idea what offsets the Singer uses. Right now on my car the closed end lug nuts protrude past the opening about 2-3mm in the front and 8-9mm in the rear. If I'm thinking about this right the difference is the wheel offset. I guess I need to find out what the available stud lengths are and take some measurements.

is it really for the long stud-look or rather for the open-lug-look?

When I bought my car it came with extended rear studs and the previous owner was running 2x25mm spacers in the rear so that he could use narrow bodied Ruf wheels. I swapped back in wider wheels that eliminated one of the rear spacers but it resulted in needing open ended lug nuts and it just looks kinda unfinished. Sent from my iPad using Tapatalk

I have some steel open lugs nuts that I tried but it didn't look right for some reason. Seemed like the lugs looked too short.

Maybe I took a picture of the front tire but I could've sworn it was the rear.

Found this thread about bull nose studs, thanks Bill.
Would any one know where to obtain lug nuts like those used by "Singer"? https://swayaway.com/product-category/wheelstuds/

Thanks, Bill and JJ!
I'm going to have the rear wheels off soon to do some work so I'll take some measurements. Those links were very helpful!

Not sure what look you are going for. These are real 8" Fuchs with OE studs.
