Any BBS gurus? What are these from?
Found these in the back of my shop. Been sitting there for years. Cant remember where or what they were from?

Those are typically 16x8 911 rear wheels for SC/Carrera flared cars. They fit the rear of those cars just like a 16x8 Fuchs 911/930 rear wheel. Also people have found that the low offset (+11mm) of these 16x8 wheels can fit the front of a 930. BBS originally spec'd an offset of +23mm or +28mm for the 930. But the lower +11mm offset on the front of the 930 makes for some added steering effort even though it does a nice job of pushing the wheels further out to the fenders.
They appear they were originally gold and someone repainted them silver. No big deal to take them apart and have the centers repainted again. But it's tedious work to remove all 34 nuts and then split the rims from the center. The center is sealed to the rims with silicone like a sandwich with mayo. Rims = bread, center = meat, silicone = mayo. Since they're glued together like that, takes some work to get them separated. Also use a good non-acid curing sealant like Dow Corning 832 silicone to re-seal them. Good luck with the sale. Nice pair of wheels and nice centercaps are becoming harder to find. Although they can be refurbished with some parts from places like Black Forest Industries. They sell the retaining clips that hold the "waffle" to the center hex and also sell replacement BBS center logos. The BBS RS 013 is an 8 x 16 ET 11 wheel for Porsche fitment.

They used to sell the BBS wheels like these as an improvement over the fuchs back in the day - rightly so - they raced with the BBS - and they are lighter than the fuchs - and they will fit over bigger brake packages....
Only downside is that they are an absolute biotch to clean...........

If you look closely, those are a set of 16x8 ET+11 and 16x9 ET+11. Those are a nice fit for a widebody/930. The ET+11 16x8 pushes the wheel out to the front fender a bit more than the ET+23 or ET+28 version. But some may not like the "tapered" look of the outer rim shell used on the ET+11 16x8, compared to the "stepped" outer rim of the 16x9 wheel.
They are indeed a prison sentence to clean. Especially if they've been neglected far too long like this ![]() And they're even worse to break down and reassemble. 34 nuts & bolts, silicone sealant, cleaning...... I pity the fools (like me & Michael) who choose to refinish these wheels. ![]()
