Turn the emergency blinkers on without using the switch

How can I get these working without the switch? To which pins do I have to apply 12V?

Understanding the Emergency Flasher Switch

Post 9 has a better description/schematic I think. It is for a later car, but the terminals are numbered consistently. If the switch is physically removed, you need power 49, and tie 49a, L and R together as that is what the switch connects when activated. 49 energizes the turn signal relay to flash which in turn flashes voltage to 49a and through the switch sends the current to L and R out to the bulbs.

Yep. That answers it. A bit more complicated than I was hoping!

Thanks
