Engine rebuild Part II..........
The room that we used for the first engine rebuild classes is now being rented by somebody. The commercial rooms that could be rented require to remove all your stuff out after the sessions. Getting the engines in and out of the place including the tools and engine hoist is too much work for an old guy like me.
Right now, I have more or less 20 guys interested to attend another introduction to engine rebuilding. If I could find a suitable location that is both convenient and accessible for the attendees, I would consider hosting one in the spring of 2020. Will do some scouting and will keep you guys posted. Thanks for the interest. Tony Last edited by boyt911sc; 05-28-2019 at 04:53 AM.. |

Tony, there are places called "Maker Spaces" that often have auto tools, a lift and lots of space. Often they are in old mill buildings. My local Maker Space has a perfect facility that could easily host 20 people and given the long lead (12ish months until next spring). Perhaps there is a space near you that could be used.

I messaged you as well, so please keep me on the list. If Im not on it, it would be greatly appreciated if you would be willing to add me.
I have to assume that most of the folks that would attend(including myself) would be more than happy to come a bit early and make sure the heavy lifting of setup and breakdown is taken care of with your direction so its less of a burden on you. David

Tony,
I bet a few local PCA clubs could gather enough people for a class. You and your wife deserve a nice holiday. Let them do the leg work and you fly in to teach the class. It's a thought to consider. It was a great class and I think anyone who attended would vouch for it. I'd consider attending again since I'm about to rebuild a 2.4 and refresh what I learned.

I attended Tony's class, enjoyed it and felt I learned something. but still have not built my motor. at least I finally tore it down and shipped parts to rebuild and machine.
I may have to consider attending AGAIN...

Maker Spaces........
Quote:
Michael, I checked and inquired with Maker Spacers and there are three (3) around the Philadelphia area. Two (2) closed for business and the third one will be closing in June 2019. So they are out. A friend mentioned to me to look for a two-car garage I could rent for a month. So the search continues for a suitable place to held this venue. Thanks. Tony |
