Hey Tony, due to coronavirus many companies and gov agencies are restricting employees ability to travel through April and even some countries are requesting travelers to quarantine for a couple weeks after a cruise. So, if there are any changes to your classes due to this, just post here and send us emails. Otherwise, I still look forward to the class!

Engine Rebuilding Classes..........
Mike,
My wife and I have decided to stay home and forfeit are scheduled European River Cruise (March/April 2020). We are scheduled to return back to US a week before the start of the classes. The probability of being quarantined due to the virus is very high. I can not allow to be absent for this event. Will keep everyone on the list posted. Thanks. Tony |
Tony, it sounds likely that domestic travel restrictions are coming as well. I know you are monitoring the situation. Hopefully things will settle down before the classes are scheduled. Fingers crossed.

Engine Rebuilding Classes 2020 Postponement.......
To All Participants,
The Corona virus is spreading world wide and the number of victims is growing each day at an alarming rate. It would be wise and prudent for us to stay home and avoid unnecessary risk of exposure to this dreaded virus. Montgomery County has the most virus patients in the State of Pennsylvania and Norristown is the borough of this county. In short, the Engine Rebuilding Classes venue (Norristown) is located in a highly affected county. For the safety of everyone and after discussing with my family, a decision to postpone the event was finally made. The 2020 Engine Rebuilding Classes is postponed to a later date. The appropriate date will be determined and announced later after the crisis is controlled and contained. If you have any question or concern, please contact me. Stay safe and healthy. Thanks. Tony |
Thanks Tony for letting us know. I look forward to doing the class in the future. I’m also fine with you holding on to the class fee for now until we know the new dates if that makes things easier.
|
Thanks for your sage advice Tony.
Let’s hope the government moves swiftly and shuts the whole thing down in the interest of public health. Be well everyone! |
Thanks, Tony. I agree with your decision. It’s the best for everyone’s safety. I’m very much looking forward to the class later this year!

Thanks for the update Tony. Hopefully we can get past this outbreak soon!

Thanks Tony, you are making the right call.

Several inquiries received..........
I have received several inquiries regarding the dates and schedules for the postponed 2020 Engine Rebuilding Classes. As of today, it is quite difficult to make any definite plan when to have this undertaking.
Tentatively, I like to have this rescheduled in September or October 2020 provided it will be safe for everyone to travel and meet in small groups. Maybe by the end of the month, we would know if it is feasible to have the classes in the fall (Sept./Oct.). November is already too cold in the East Coast. So everyone stay safe and healthy. Thanks. Tony |
I'm in when you're ready! Willing to take the 0.05% chance ;)

No date yet........

Chris, A month ago, I was some what optimistic that we could have the 2020 Engine Rebuilding Classes in the fall but at the moment, things do not look like it would be safe and prudent to do it. There are 59 registered participants (4 groups with 8 and 3 groups with 9) coming from different parts of the country. And the risk we are facing is not in our favor. Social/physical distancing is not practical for us because 8 people will be shoulder to shoulder looking and working around the motor being disassembled/assembled. If the children are allowed to go back to school in September, it would be a good sign that a small group assembly or meeting will be acceptable and safe. We rather err on the side of caution than regret later. Looking forward to meet you guys in person someday. Thanks. Tony |

I am with you with your concern.I can commit to one week for 2 sessions to help you for teaching.I have had the virus for 5 weeks starting in early Feb. But at this time I am not sure that is valid with our current knowledge.Maybe your guys do not want to be exposed to me.Let me know.Ciao Fred

I’m interested
One day we will move beyond COVID and I am hopeful you will be able to do another rebuild class. I am local (Bucks Co). Please count me in your next instructional class.
Thanks! |
Please continue to update this thread as I would be interested as well.

Engine Rebuilding Classes Update...........
Let’s be patient and wait for the right time when we could meet safely as a group of enthusiasts. If by April or May 2021 social distancing is no longer required, we could resume the classes. It is too early at this point to make any decision.
For the meantime, I started another engine teardown to keep me busy this winter. All the dirty work and cleaning will be done in the unheated garage and will be inspected and assembled in the basement work area where it’s nice and warm. http://forums.pelicanparts.com/uploa...1608546533.jpg http://forums.pelicanparts.com/uploa...1608546533.jpg All future participants are required to have their vaccinations done for the safety of everyone attending the classes. Any suggestions to keep us safe is welcome. Thanks. Tony |
