Class hours........
Quote:
We start around 8:00 AM to 12:00, lunch break and resume at 1:00 PM up to 5:00 PM. There are so much subjects to cover in just 2 days and like to maximize the hands on experience of the participants. I wish I could make it into 3 days sessions but I might not survive it for 6 groups. The first day, I will have 2 or 3 motors in the classroom that we will use. Everything will be set up and ready for the class including tools to be used. I will need volunteers to join me do an engine teardown after a brief discussion. And so on. At the end of the first day, I will stay behind to prepare for the following day’s activities. It would be a long hectic day for me. Usually it’s a 14-hour work schedule for me. But I feel great and rewarded when I see people enjoying the fruit of my labor. It is priceless. See you soon. Tony |
Hi Tony, I'm interested in joining your April 2022 group. Thanks!

September 6-7 group.......
Quote:
jma, After Thanksgiving Day, I will announce an invitation for the April 22 sessions. Right now, I am only concentrating for the September 2021 sessions. There are still seats available for September 6-7 group if your interested to join this fall. Thanks. Tony |
Hi Tony. I just found this. If I fly or train into Philly, approx how long is the drive? Pending spousal approval, this may be my b’day present. Not done any engine «*building*» since diesels. You may be short on those dates because both are holidays. Best wishes.

Driving distance.........

Philadelphia International Airport is about 25 miles from the venue and Center City (Philadelphia) is about 20 miles away. There is also a local train from the airport to Norristown Transportation Center. And call Uber to your destination. If you are interested to join us next month, PM me your full name and email address. Thanks. Tony |
As of August 9...........
We have about a month to go before we start the first group. Next week, I will start preparing the room and deliver the motors and tools including chairs and tables. Looking forward to meet everyone in person. Have a pleasant and safe travel.

Additional participant........
Kevin F. (USERA),
I will add your name in the September 6-7 group. A couple more seats are available if anyone is still interested to join us. Thanks. Tony |
Wondering: Not to be a total pain in the butt, BUT does anyone - already signed up - want to trade their 13~14 or 16~17 slot for my 9~10 slot (if this is okay with Tony)
just asking.. Looking forward to this, finally ! |

If you could get anyone on the list to switch places for the September Engine Rebuilding sessions that would be great. I have no problem with it. But this arrangement would be between you guys. Please let me know who is taking your spot so that I could make the changes. Three (3) more weeks to go and looking forward to meet new friends. Tony |
Tony:
The US government just announced this morning that the land border between Can & US will remain closed until Sept 21. That makes it pretty much impossible for me to make the Sept 13 class as Im on the chilly side of the 49th parallel. Can I bump out to 2022? Thanks Al |
Border crossing.........
Quote:
Al, If you won’t be able to attend your scheduled sessions due to some government regulation, there is nothing we could do about it. There are 6 Canadians registered to attend the engine rebuilding classes and have not heard from them. Let’s keep the schedule as is and for those affected would have an option to join us next spring (2022). Tony |
Tony, I’m happy to see this filling up. I am just not going to make it. You can’t believe what a PITA it is to get from Boston to Philly. Maybe in different times. All the best.
|
Tony,
Sent you an email. I too am on the Chilly side of the 49th, so I am not able to attend the September 20-21 session. It's a real bummer for me as I have 3 motors to rebuild. Hopefully by spring, Covid will have been strangled to an acceptable level so I'll be able to join one of your sessions. Cheers, Johan |
Safety........
Quote:
Johan et al, Do what is best for you. Our safety and well being is more important than this engine rebuilding classes. If this travel restriction won’t allow you to cross the border then stay home. But do not completely give up, things might change by next month. If you can not make it this fall, another one in April 2022 is coming up. Probably my last one. Tony |
Hi Tony, I would like to attend the April session as I am unable to attend this September.
|
BTW: Sticking w/ the 9/10th ..
I hope our Canadian Brothers can eventually get down here and learn the art. I am SO looking forward to this! Been watching as many videos as I can find. |
Next year.......
Quote:
Mike, Before the end of the year, I will start the registration for the April 2022 sessions. Tony |
Quote:
John, Yes. You could join September 13-14 group. I will accommodate you. Tony |
Please take the spot. I'd be there if the border were open and flying right now is just not an option given the travel restrictions. I was so hoping the US would open the border as Canada did.
|
Border crossing..........
Quote:
Al, Use the southern border instead. All you have to do is cross the Rio Grande River and get all the benefits including free hotel accommodation. Just kidding. There are 6 Canadians registered and I’m keeping my fingers crossed that they all make it. If not try next time. I am hoping you guys could make the trip. Thanks. Tony |
