The infamous A/C threads usually start in May, but we are treated early this year.

Going after the Guinness Book record for unsubstantiated boasts and misspelled insults..

Boy, sometimes this can be a rough room. Sometimes it can be unreasonably rough. I think this guy is really trying. Who really cares if someone does it at their own pace and their own way? Really, how many people are committing themselves to 911 AC problems in the entire world?

I think it's really great when people share their findings - both when they are behind and before the times. At the end of the day, I think it's great when people get excited about things. We need more of this in the hobby.

And no, I'm not some guy or parent who thinks every person and child deserves a trophy for the effort. I believe the effort going on here should be noticed without some sort of harangue about this or that.

I agree with your sentiment Sal, but there are no 'findings' presented here, just sketches of an idea. An idea that has been done before by other companies and several individuals, including 'nocarrier' it seems.

Now, I might be wrong but I think we are the only folks who actually use the Porsche 997 condenser AND have a finished product. I merely pointed out that what is being put forward by the OP as the 'Holy Grail' looks very much like our condenser assembly and is also based on (an adaptation of) the Porsche 997 condenser.

As for haranguing, just look at post #30 for the tirade of abuse I got from the OP!

For the record and in response to the OP's critical (but incorrect) analysis:

1) The PFC we use is the OEM unit that is made by either Nissens or Behr. It is the very same unit as supplied to Porsche.

2) He says we use 'radiator hose clamps'. No. Those are Oetiker crimps and they outperform bubble crimps all day long which is why they are used in motorsport and aircraft applications. They cannot trap water and therefore do not rust. Our fittings are custom made.

3) Our fan shroud is fully sealed.

4) As for his comments about our documentation, he clearly has read it pretty thoroughly!

...not to mention the fact that he isn't just posting this stuff to share ideas--he's trying to sell us crap that is untested and cobbled together.

Thanks.

This was my first attempt at modifying a condenser. Next time i'd like to try and incorporate a nicer shroud and fan mount design. I've already started designing a condenser in auto cad.

I don't remember the exact temp.

But if you can imagine, Summer in South Florida. It was that hot. :)

I've got an adjustable evap temp switch and if set too low I can literally turn it into a block of ice at full fan speed during our hottest days.[/QUOT

ARE you in south Florida ?

I live in Ft. Lauderdale

Yes, I'm in south Florida. Boynton Beach to be exact.

The guys are installing the second (classicretrofit.com) a/c system in another car. Awesome product that's available now, not just vaporware.

Sal, KeloGes takes a lot of flak because he has a long forum history of beating his chest about his inventions, and at the same time, openly disparaging all other options (including ones that many people use with great success) - that, combined with his "I'm selling, not selling, selling only to a few, hand picked individuals that demonstrate their worth, I am God's gift to a/c and the rest of you suck" line of commentary really invites barbs.

Yep, Adam ( no carrier) is going to be fabbing his same set up in the silver bullet hopefully before it gets hot here again. I’ll rub it in for you northern folk. It’s 50-60 at night and 70-75.

KelogGes 01-16-2018 04:15 PM

Howdy xbmwguy,

Nice to see another South Floridian here!

Somebody Else's LOSS, this A/C system is junk and will ruin a 911 and greatly devalue it!
you can't fix stupid

Read for yourself how bad it is from their web site

I ain't saying nuttin' but my thoughts resemble your remark.

KelogGes 01-16-2018 06:42 PM

It really bothers me when someone Basterdizes an early model 911 for any reason!

Seeing these FAN mentality idiots Basterdizing their rear deck lid whale tails to put blower fans in it, that made the rear deck lid condenser heat exchange even worse was beyond the pail.

The damage that it did to this beautiful early model 911 greatly saddened me! There was absolutely no need to ever put an addional blower fan in the rear deck lid for any reason; the 911 engine already had a great one, all they needed to do was remove their rear deck lid condenser and seal it to the air intake opening and put it back on! This takes about 10 minutes and a little foam or rubber sealing insulation. What they got was a ruined very expensive wail tail.

I can understand a 911 owner wanting to cool his A/C SYSTEM a little better to try to relieve the heat of a poorly performing A/C SYSTEM to reduce themselves from sweating.

This takes only one thing, replacing old technology condensers WITH NEW TECHNOLOGY HEAT EXCHANGERS!
The newer the Techology the LOWER The Vent Temps WILL BE! and enough AIR CFM to exchange the heat

KelogGes 01-16-2018 07:23 PM

I AM NO LONGER GOING TO PERSONALLY CUSTOM MAKE MATCH SET PFC's

I have proven with several professional 911 installations my custom made Front and Rear matched set PFC designs met my design objectives of 30 degree F Vent temps @ 95 degree's F and from now on having made for me by a well known USA A/C manufacturer and I will distribute them as an after market OEM

WE are redesigning them to make them even better with newer technology micro-channel to make them even more efficient, though they work great as they are; and hope to have them ready in small quantities world wide for the summer A/C season to interested buyers.

KelogGes 01-16-2018 07:53 PM

I decided to make this this dual Fender Well PFC and made 2.

Its basically done except putting hose fitting on it and shroud, I should have done in the next couple of weeks.

I don't know if it will be the Holy Grail NOT? But I know it has more than enough A/C surface area for the whole Early model 911 entire A/C System

But It needs to be tested to find out what it will do or not do.

You may not know this but the Porsche 2018 911's and even 2000's 911's are all using #6 inlet and outlet fitting sizes for their refrigerant gas with reduced barrier hose with #6 block fittings!

This creates a dilemma for me to decide what A/C hose fittings to put on it for testers

Oh, stacked condensers with a fan! I did it first, it's my design, I invented it, it's going to be massive, a huge success, best setup ever, Make Condensers Great Again!http://forums.pelicanparts.com/uploa...1517679317.jpg

I dare anyone in the world to match that!

This new DUEL FENDER WELL PFC might by itself, shown above or might not?

That's quite a boast. Any pictures of the install?

I'm genuinely interested but you didn't answer my question on page one.
