993 question - what does that defrost button do?

I'm looking at a picture of the 993 HVAC controls, and I see a defrost button that has a windshield looking picture on it... does this work like modern cars, ie heat + AC + max fan + vents upward?

I have a friend with one (with a broken switch) just trying to understand its function. When he first mentioned it, I assumed it was for the rear window, but he insists it's for the front defrost, and he uses it often.

TIA,

I think that its just max heat + max fan + blowing through the dash window vents

Thanks Bill - It looks like the switch is available separately, do you know if the entire HVAC control module has to be removed to swap it out?

Dunno, the only thing I ever did was pull the whole dash module to clean the fan in back
