Im fortunate that the sale of my previous car went a long way towards funding this build!!! I started with a relatively cheap chassis and engine which hadn't been run for many years, which meant I could spend my budget (and some) on the good bits that will translate to performance. The only area I'm loosing is this car won't be road registered, due to the full cage and amount of modifications... on the upside it will get used nearly as much as designed to run in many different types of events (except cars and coffee!)

I've got some free time this weekend, maybe I'll swing by to say hi to Tyson and check on your car! Man, Tyson did some awesome work to get your clearance back and it seems like you'll have ample clearance going back to 235 or 245's. Really enjoying the updates. It's on the home stretch now, so it seems like you're coming back sometime in the next few weeks?

Look forward to catching up again then. Still a lot to set up and complete, things like lexan, shifter/handbrake, wiring etc but the big bits are now falling into place. Agree, the build and custom fabrication is in great hands with Tyson ![]() ![]()

Hargett shifter and Voodoo 13 Hydro installed.
Just need to get some flex hoses to connect the handbrake as expect the location may need some fine tuning later. Also allows for it to be removed if it gets in the way on track...

Closer to running... but in another case of “while your at it” removed the old coils and converted to fit new 993 coil packs.

Update time!
More wiring and finishing touches... as the chassis has been sitting for a many years, Tyson ran into a few electrical gremlins on power up which needed relays and fuel pump etc replaced. ![]() Gauges and dash in, and finishing more wiring... Brakes bled, and line lock and hydro connected with flex lines but not secured yet. This will allow the position to be optimised later to suit seat and cockpit layout.

The races and events you'll be running...what sort of duration? As in, how many hours will you be in the seat for the longest events? Best, John

Typically 20mins sprints is the most at club and state level.
The longest single stint i have done in my previous 911 track car was 1hr15min run in a teams 6hr endurance event at Wakefield Park (and that was in the rain!), and an hour event at Phillip Island. This is being set up as a “multi tool” to do sprint, autocross, hillclimb and maybe some rally. I would like to be able to do more individual or team style endurance style events in the future, so the larger fuel cell may come in handy! (I did think about changing for a smaller cell to save weight but left in the 27gal for maximum flexibility)

Would you mind telling me what brand rear fiberglass fenders you used on your car? They look like they fit very good and I'm looking for a set to mount to my car currently.
Thank you

After some long days with final prep its ready to run...
![]() ![]() Managed to squeeze in some testing today! Had a run with Jack to see the track and find out how fast a 911 can go round Willow? Answer is even on old tyres and a hot day, much faster than it looks in his videos. ![]() The new motor ran great straight out of the trailer and was able to do a few quick laps before some hydraulic issues with the rear brakes grabbing needed attention.

After 11months of build, here are some of the suspension, brake parts and shifter parts which were left over...
![]() I will be listing for sale on the main thread and as I’m not going to be here to mange it, need to sell it all together. Talked with the guys at the shop and USD1,500 for the lot (pick up Burbank, CA)

Tried out some “protect n peel” before heading out to Willow.
Don’t have this in Australia so wanted to give it a go. Put on a coat the night before using a 2” disposable brush. The recommended little roller and tray might have been good for larger surfaces, and if your looking for a better finish, but for the front and around the lights and bumper the brush worked great. The picture below is about 5mins after a rushed second coat prior to loading in the trailer. You can see its already drying and turning clear, has similar characteristics to PVA wood glue. ![]() I ran the first coat up higher above the latch pins. You can just see in the sun the line between the headlights. Unless your up close, you can barely see my brush strokes. ![]() I also did some on the side sills and rear wheel arches and will leave it on for the sea container trip home. Its much less work that doing the blue tape thing!
