Unhappy spark plug access obstructed

I was removing spark plugs on a 79 911sc, I am unable to access the right rear spark plug (when veiwing engine from rear of car) because it seems the oil cooler is in the path of acessing the spark plug. Has anybody ever ran into this problem or know whats going on with this complication. It seems as if the cooler has been pushed upwords and back into the acess hole for the spark plug. I changed the spark plugs 6 months ago and did not have this problem. I am at a loss for how to proceed and am open to sugestions.

Remove the oil cooler. If it's bent that bad it either took a hit from the road or excessive high oil pressure bulged it out. Either way it should come off.

See, for example, this article: https://www.pelicanparts.com/techarticles/911_oil_leaks/911_oil_leaks.htm

You want to be absolutely certain, however, as that's a big job. How about completing your profile and some photos of the offending area?

Use a small mirror and a bright flashlight or a boroscope to get a look inside the area.

Have you driven the car since you last worked on it? If it's been sitting for some time and your storage area is not tight against rodents, there might be a nest at that location...

use a mirror and look back there to verify whats going on.

I use a plug socket on a swivel with a 3in extension on it but I have welded it all together.
kind of had the same issue as you on #3. had to grind a little off the side of socket to get plug out.

have your tried the factory tool?

I found a situation like that once. The plug well was full of acorns, thanks to our rodent friends. And this was on a car that was driven regularly. Maybe they like roasted nuts,

Solution was a homemade nozzle to fit on a shop vac. Then had to “chop” the things up into smaller particles with a screwdriver to retrieve. Took awhile.

I have a thing on my shop vac that kind of comes to a point. then I put a rubber hose in there and duct tape it to seal then use the hose for small areas. have it on there for my truck.
cant get the stupid plugs out because rust has collected down in the shield around the plug.
2 hrs I have wasted and only 1 plug out.

never buy a dodge

I had access blocked to 3 spark plugs back about 2 years ago. It ended up being the last couple inches of the head studs that were blocking my socket from slipping down onto the spark plug. Simply rebuild the engine to solve the problem. LOL
