Cool Exploring my ventilation and AC...

Hi Pelicans:

I'm putting my foot down - my '83SC Targa with 166K miles is too darn uncomfortable to use in the summer here in DC. So, I'm looking to upgrade my AC, and will be contacting Griff shortly. In the meantime...

My fresh air blower has never worked in the car, I'm going to get behind the cover in the frunk and see what's what. I did take a peek in the smuggler's box and this is what I found. Can someone tell me what these connectors are for, and what the PO was doing in disconnecting these?

Thanks, Pelicans!

None of that is your fresh air blower. All of that is A/C

Close the smugglers box, notice the curved cardboard cover sitting vertically right behind the smugglers box, remove said cover with the 4 bolts, and THERE is your fresh air blower.

Just so you know, the fresh air blower only blows out of the tiny vents along the window, it does zero good to you as the driver. It's only helpful when it's 70 degrees out and raining, and you need some circulation because the windows are all closed up.

I would just connect them and see if the AC blower comes on, assuming it does not at this time. Should be 2 wires required for that, the 1,2 you have marked and one should go into the motor. The other with the schematic on the female is ? Nothing else in there needing power that I remember.

I’ll try it. Do you know of a need for any type of fused intermediate wire to bridge the 1-2 wires?
