Paintscratch.com doesn't list the 396 for 1980. It does have a 376 (petrol blue metallic clearcoat) for the 1980 year. Are you sure it is a 9 and not a 7. What colr is the car now.

I just got off the phone with Sherwin Williams auto paint div.
The nice lady told me that the factory occasionally makes mistakes when stamping the code. So it has to be petrol..?? I guess its close?
Heres the link

Porsche Crest

I have ordered from paintscratch.com with great results. If unsure, just order the color paint pen and clear coat pen to make sure. It will not set you back that much.

387
341
3OT

Good luck

Bizare huh?!
I took it to 2 diff. places yesterday (autopaint (Tacoma), and sherwin williams). Neither could figure it out. The car has been painted, but the original color was used. I can see a couple of tape lines under the hood where the original "faded" paint is. The Petrol was too green so I dont really no what to do now.
Thanks again guys

Does anyone know what the name of paint code 396-9-3 is? Pacific blue metallic? Prussian blue? Night blue metallic? I have seen another 80SC with that tag and can’t find a record of that paint code anywhere.
