thx JR... just the info i was looking for... so to double check, this monty muffler is a bit quiter than a similar muffler that has exit tips on each end of the muffler; center muffler exit tips as on this monty, are "lower in pitch" vs a muffler that has an exit pipe on each end of the muffler...? thx again for this info... i appreciate it...

No, you got that backwards. This has a more complex sound and is a little higher in pitch than the ones with the outlets on the ends. Probably louder, too... but that's relative to how loud the others are,as these don't vary as much as the others do.
This style muffler also has a more aggressive sound when off throttle, too. Watch some videos of early 70's competition 911s to get an idea of what an angry 911 motor sounds like. JR |

Watch this video:
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=A4Nx9wtxIVo You'll see single outlet exhausts (left side only and center only) dual exhausts (2 side outlets, 2 widespread center outlets, 2 narrow spread center outlets) and engines from probably 2 liters, to 3 liters, or a little larger. Pay attention to the style of exhaust and the probable engine size and note all of the different sounds. Note also how some of them sound, off throttle. Then watch this video: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=rftR0iRwnLw More of the same... JR |
