Beru spark plug wires?
I ordered a set of wires from PP and ended up with Beru brand.
They don't fit well on my 1.7. The wires are too long and the #2 and #4 spark plug connectors are too short. They go onto the plugs ok, but the dust boots get forced past the holes in the engine tin. Has anyone had this problem? Should have gone with the Magnecor wires... Or maybe Napa. ![]()

I just ordered a set of Jacobs wires for my six from Performance Products. I have not put them on yet, but they look like they are extremely high quality.

Had the same problem 6 or 8 months back. I sent them back to PP and they sent out another set that worked fine, right lengths etc. I would give PP another shot at getting it right.

PP is sending out a set of Bosch wires that should fit better. Fingers crossed...

Hi Jeff,
I just fixed that problem with the wires. I'm using a BOSCH set that fit great! You're right, the BERU wires don't fit right. We also offer the magnecore wires if you want to go that route.

I have a 2 liter engine and bought the Bosche wires. They dont fit right. They are too short to run in the sheet metal holders to lay flat on the engine. Two of them are the long end and two are short. For the 2 liter they should all be the shorter ends due to the angle of the plugs. The 1.7 and 1.8 need two of them to be longer. So it does make a difference which type you have. The place where I bought them (no names mentioned) told me they were all the same. NOT! Looks like I will be getting my next set from PP.

I had the same experience with the Bosch plug wires on my 2.0 . I wound up with Beru ones instead.
I have heard (haven't tried it though) that Bug wires work on the 2.0 914. --DD

had the same problem ordering wires from PP last year, was told the four short insulators were for the 2.0. They made it right with Bosch wires, but two things are of concern: from the original and at least one other supporting post they keep making the same irritating mistake, and secondly, they must be eating up the profits on UPS call tags. {Yes, I am concerned that a supplier doesn't waste money, because I want them to be around in the future.} How about finally sorting this one out?
