FI double relay question

Working on a friends 73 1.8 and we need a new double relay. We have two (0332514120, 0332514121) and neither is an exact fit, and neither is the same pin arrangement. Also cant find the relay listed in the PET. What relay should I use?

From my copy of the PET, the VW (and Porsche) part number for the Dual Relay from a 74 1.8 (a 1.7 would have a 1.7 with D-jet) should be 071 906 059 A. The Pelican catalog seems to list this as NLA from us, so you may have to look elsewhere for it. A quick Google search turns up several hits.

The numbers you cite sound more like Bosch part numbers. The older Bosch catalog I have access to says "Combi-relay, 0 322 514 120", which is the first of the two you list. It shows that number for the 75 1.8, and for the 912E as well.

Are you sure you've got the correct plug? There were some strange variations in a few cases, with added plugs for things like altitude compensators and fuel-cut rev limiters and such.

The 121 part number cross-references to an Alfa, several BMWs, a few Fiats, a Lancia, a couple of Renaults, and the Triumph TR-7.

Thanks Dave, that is a big help. Do you have the Bosch part number for the 1.8?

Yes, it's the first of the two numbers you posted. "Combi-relay, 0 322 514 120"

Thanks Dave. I found out the original number 0332514025 which is NLA, superseded to ...120. I had to modify the plug but it works now.
