Has anyone done re-vinyl 914 center console? Good condition concoles are about $200 so I thought I should re-vinyl it.
I 've sent a mail toWORLD UPHOLSTERY and they reply to me that they can not help me. Thanks. |

What I did on mine was carefully remove the old vinyl, remove the stiching, then went down to a fabric shop and found black vinyl that was roughly the same color and texture, then using the old stuff, i made a template, cut the new vinyl to shape and re-stiched it. turned out pretty good.

The original was not stitched, it was heat-bonded (i.e., melted) together. There were impressions melted into the vinyl that looked like stitching...
There are patterns available on a French 914 club website. A search here on the BBS will turn up the link. --DD

Dave, i think mine must have been re-done at one time then, because there was stitching along the front edge. maybe this explains why the vinyl had fallen off
