Rear Valance - Will Old Style Fit?
I've noticed that many of the older 914's have a larger rear valance with a hole for the exhaust tip.
Would this style fit on my 1974 & will I have any problems with my exhaust tip aligning up with the hole. I currently have a Dansk muffler but I am considering replacing with a Bursch Quiet Street. Any advice would be great.....................................Vern |

Vern - I had to replace the rear valance on my '71 recently. Exhaust tip didn't line up w/the hole in the valence, but a muffler shop welded an extension onto the pipe for about $25. Piece of cake.

It should fit, but I believe that the exhaust won't line up.
It makes a really good scoop for air, though. And creates a high-pressure area under the rear trunk floor that partly counteracts what the under-floor flaps do. (Those are to help with cooling; they make the area under the engine a low-pressure area so that the cooling air gets sucked out of the engine a bit faster.) --DD

Loose the valance and get a nice looking muffler in Stainless....much better.
