Upfixin started

Well, after sitting in my garage for 6 months, I've finally started on the repairs for my teener. Reference here for background info:
Introduction

Anyway, dropped the engine out, now I'm ready to replace this suspension ear:

I'm just glad I caught it before it let loose in a turn or something.

Oh, jeez. Someone brazed it up already. You may wind up having to put more brazing on there, or cut the whole dang thing off and weld on new metal!! From what I read, you cannot weld to metal that has been contaminated with brass or brazing flux.

I've read that also about welding brazed areas. My current plan is to purchase a replacement piece and cut out alot of the existing piece.
