				Shift lever adjustment

			Hi,

I downloaded the gear shift lever adjustment from the PP Tech Advisory and it says to loosen the forward shifter rod bolt then put the shifter all the way to the left and retighten the bolt. The Haynes manual and Pat Paternies book suggest a similar method but they suggest putting the lever all the way to the right before tightening the forward shifter rod bolt. Will either of these methods work? Is one better than the other? I've been having trouble shifting into 4th. Sometimes it goes into 2nd instead of 4th and the motor don't like dat! Cheers, Elliot PS I replaced all the bushings and ball cup. |

Do a search on my name and you'll find a better shift lever adjustment. It was posted in the past 3-4 weeks.

I searched and couldn't find it. It seems there are a lot of methods for doing this and I'll just have to find a method that works for me. I'll experiment around and see what I can do. Tinkering with the car is one of the reasons I bought the damn thing in the first place. It's great to have forums like this one to get help and varied opinions and experiences.

I've used the Haynes procedure (right side) myself, but then spent some time tweaking everything to where I wanted it. I don't think that the one or the other procedure is that much better, really.
