Hey Guys,

Sorry I haven't responded yet, work has been busy. I can't make it this weekend (wisdom teeth are coming out on Friday). Have a great time.

I've been trying to get ahold of Dezel also, no luck thus far. I'll let you know if/when I hear from him. I can't offer up my car, it hasn't been long enough since my valves have been adjusted, and I'm running fine. Guess we'd need a car to work on if we're doing this right, haha.

Nathan

Update, just got a mail from him, he has returned today from some business and vacation over the last few weeks. He'll pop in here soon to give his status.

My valves were also recently adjusted but they sound louder than they were before the trip to the shop. They said one or two were nearly closed up so I guess that explains the noise, but I'll be happy to be the guinea pig if we just want to check how mine are set.

Thoughts?

And if we get there at 10:00, allow for cooling, etc, I'd still need to be pulling out of the driveway around 2:00 or so to do the round trip for the party. Does this seem feasible?

Yeah, I know: it's all about me...

I'll decide what I'll do Fri evening after seeing the dinner hour weather forecast. I'll post here so Nate and Eric will be able make possible alternate plans to caravan, etc.

Hope for good weather!

Hey guys and Happy belated holiday ...is everyone still eating turkey sandwiches like myself for lunch and dinner (Thank God ) ?.I figure 914's would be in line to get a valve adjustment ..nothing like a trip to the 914 doctor to bring the New Year in ....

If it is a 15K thing mines is certainly on target for a check up.....

As a few may know I might have a sale on my 914 this Saturday from a gent in WV who sent a friend of his over to inspect the car and the firend gave him 2 thumbs up to get the vehicle...So its tenative but he is suppose to come down Sat. morning....

Iam not abandoning 914's but I've sold my Corvair and trying to sell my 914 to get a pretty cherry 914/6 from a coworker.....

Wish I could drive the 914/6 there but turn around wont be that quick if I do sell the car...... Is everyone driving there 914 down or is there any caravans going ? Hopefully we wont see any snow but iam hearing that as well in the forecast....

Anybody got a clue on how we can adjust the REDSKINS ?

take care...I'll be playing it down to the wire since i have a possible sale ....then I can evolve to the sixer !

Hey guys..Sorry to say the Herr's will not be making the trip I know put a big "L" on my forehead

I have my company Xmas party at 6:00 and the drive seems to be 3+ hrs.

Maybe next time I have my 914 running fairly well. I have been driving it to work for most of Nov. It's been a blast.

I set the timing recently and that was a blast.. It was LOUD in the engine bay. It seems you need to have your head 6" from the fan shroud to see the marks while my wife had the tach held at 3,000 RPM's WOW!!!

Best of luck guys.

Also, has anyone made a local tool loaner list? I have some 914 specific tools and will be buying some additional ones this winter. Tranny rebuild/part swap planed

Kerry

Watching weather ... prognosis not good. Rain, sleet, snow for Saturday. As you all know things can change fast in the mid-atlantic.

So, I offer this ... Lets wait it out untill noon on Friday.

Dezel, valve adjustment is actually a 3K mile thing ...

I'm guessing you're talking about Ray from ASG? I think that'd rock for having a tech session at their shop, it's huge. And maybe we can take a look at, I think it's Geof's 2.2 911 motor w/ 906 intake manifolds and 220+hp...drool.

January would be better for me, since I'm out of town the 13-14th of Dec. Let us know.

Nathan

Eric,

I could be up for that. The more I think about this the more I'm inclined to vote for a reschedule of the tech session to January. Holiday activities are consuming a lot of time lately.

Angry Saturday is officially cancelled

Well guys, stick a fork in it. We are done for Saturday. The weather is just not going to cooperate. The forecast is for Rain, Sleet, Snow, Ice ... you name it. The system has been labled as "complex" and that can only mean we are in for something and judging by the temerature it is not going to be pleasant.

Sorry, But can you imagine the amount of "salt" that will be put down on the roads for this "ice" event. I will not lure any teeners out this weekend. Even for a valve adjust and free food and Beverage. lol

I suggest we reschedule for January and hope for better weather. I am more than willing to offer my venue or change to the possiblity of the "real" garage in NoVA ...

Till then ... Scott
