914 doesn't stop
My 1972 914 1.7 will not stop when the key is switched off. I have followed the "Dr's" advice, replaced the ignition switch, disconnected the alternator at the relay board and looked for shorts or bulbs installed backwards. What's going on here?

The car was in storage for a long time. When I tried to restart it it would not run with points and a coil. We installed a permatune and it ran. The tach doesn't work now. I have read that the tach is in the circuit that grounds th coils. Is this problem related?

Is the tach plugged in? There is a black/purple wire that hooks to the (-) terminal on the coil. (The purple can fade and look somewhat black as well.)
If the engine still runs when the switch is off, it is likely that you still have +12V getting to the coil. Trace it to find out where it is coming from. --DD
