Run away.... they are the AA of the West.

Enough said.

Search for MM on the 911 board and you will learn the ways of the waise.

Quick sick fix is more like it.

I don't really like the "Quick Six" mount. It's huge and heavy, probably 35 lbs or more of iron. It interferes with the heat exchangers (if you need heat) and with some of the shift linkages you can get.

At least it isn't prone to breaking like some of the other "crossbar" mounts.

I would suggest using a firewall mount. The "Sport Mount" is my favorite so far. See our on-line catalog for details on that.

Gee if you dont want to spend the money that it takes rebuild your T4 about $3k to do it yourself, are you really going to spend the $7- 12 K to do a Six? BTW using a Aftermarket oil tank and you will be rebuilding you motor as they dont have the proper baffilng in the tank to remove the air bubbles from the oil.Steve

Ahhh. So a Velios tank is no good. I never like the idea of an AL tank, because of salt corrosion. Copper is pretty resilient against salt. AL is no good.

What about other Velios products?

I have a vellios tank, and it DOES have the baffling to remove the air in the oil. ONLY the very early vellios tanks were missing the baffling.

If you want me to prove it, I will take pictures of it down the oil filler neck.

I spoke with Vellios this weekend. It was many months between calls. I finnaly got my tank though!

Anyway, to make a long story short, he has been ill and is considering doing some more stuff again.

As Mike noted you cant be in a hurry if you want parts from him. (Thats about as nicely as it can be put)

The other Vellios stuff is top notch.

I have seen the quick six bar and it is HUGE, like DD says.

Cant you just coat the outside of the tank to deal with the salt?
I havent been on a salted road in decades so I couldnt tell ya.
The tank is really think so I would guess it would take a while to corode.

Patrick Motorsports has a really nice mount that is light, mounts to the original points, and does not interfere with heat exchangers.

They also do a nice job with the oil cooler modification.

I went with the aluminum oil tank. I have no regrets.

Ever deal with them? Less than stellar customer service....

And a few people have had "issues" with their crossbar-type motor mount. (Read: Breaking and letting the engine fall onto the shift linkage.) That's how Mister Z got to learn about their customer service.

...And he isn't the only one...

I haven't hear of those problems with them before (or their cross bar mount), but when I did my conversion, they were extremely helpful, very friendly, and their service was goos, and the quality of their work was excellent. I've had no problems wit my motor mount or the oil cooler they modified for me. That was all about four years ago, so I can't speak to distant past issues or current.

Worried about salt with an Alum tank??? Hmmm.

Many 915 gear boxes and 911 motors are made from Alum. I would be worried more about what the salt does to steel body of a 914.

Since most nice 914s are not driven in the snow, is salt really an issue...

FWIW, I order a Velios tank from PP and had no problems. However, if I was to design an oil tank, a couple of things would be changed.
