clock question

I'm finally putting my interior back together (thanks for all of your past help), and when I plugged the wires back into my console gauges the light stayed on in my clock. It appears that a wire has been spliced, but I lose it under the dash. My questions are as follows: Is this normal? Will this drain my battery? If I disconect the light will this make my clock quit? Thanks. This car would not be without you all!

Sounds like your wires may be crossed. The clock needs a non-switched 12v source to keep time and another 12v source thru the lighting circuit for the panel light. You may have them reversed. You may want to check out the PP technical article on installing the center console. It contains a wiring diagram that may be helpful:
