I guess it isn't really surprising to see a US company using sales approaches (there is another where a cat is beheaded- try running thst one in Peoria) that wouldn't be acceptable here, to sell cars in less reactionary lands.....

I think that the US is less politically correct than we think. A little humor in advertising might get some of us to loosen up. Maybe Ford & GM could use a little boost in sales. Seems to work for Geico.

motion detector rigged up to activate a hydraulically pressurized ram that will open the hood quickly.

Could be done.. You'd have to figure out what pressures you'd need though, you'd also need to stabilize the hood's frame a bit more...
