Replacing front rotrs this weeked???
Doing that hopefully this weekend.
Was looking in my hanes manual for the torque specs on the nut for the end of the shaft after i put the new wheel bearings and the rotor on. I think it said 11lb/ft. i thought that might be a lil on the low side. Any input is greatly appreciated. THanks, Billy |

Sounds about right. You can check the adjustment by moving the washer with the tip of a screwdriver. If you can move it sideways WITHOUT prying, then it's OK. BE SURE you have the SAME rotor as you're removing. There are 3 different rotors. The Cap'n

Ah cool. Thanks for the tips. I read about the 3 different rotors in the Tech Tips 700. I will make sure that i have the right ones before i go working on it.
thanks, Billy |

There is no torque spec for the thrust hex nut. There is a spec for bearing adjustment, however. You should be able to slide the thrust washer around with the tip of a screw driver ( as stated above).
The 11 ft-lb torque spec is for the clamping screw on the thrust nut. |

What they said. 11ftlbs. on the allen head once the nut is in he proper position (which is the washer and screwdriver trick).
