Rebuilding an engine

Im slowly buying parts to rebuild my old engine. im looking for some specs so i can decide what i need to do.
what is the stock size of a crank, cam, and pistons on a 1.7??
What is the biggest size of this stuff that i can put into a 1.7 case without having it machined??
Last i have a 2.0 with what i belevet to be 1.8 heads on it. as i understand you have to have it macined to put that head on a 2.0. i would like to used these heads when i put the old engine back together. Can i just bolt them on?? or do i have to macine the case and put bigger pistons on it???

You can build a 1.7 case to 2.0 by using the 2.0 crank, rods, pistons. The 1.8 heads will bolt on to 2.0 cylinders as is.Steve

Depending on who you ask, there may or may not be a very little bit of clearancing you have to do to the inside of the 1.7 case when you put the 2.0 crank/rods/Ps/Cs in it.

You can even put 96mm P&Cs on a 1.7, but the cylinder walls are a bit thin. If you use the 1.8 heads, you can use the 96mm kit designed for the 1.8, which has thicker walls and seems to be more durable. That will give you 1910cc displacement on a 1.7/1.8 crank, 2055cc on a 2.0 crank.

If you're willing to spend the $$, you may be able to go higher on the stroke than 71mm. 78mm fits with very little machining. Put that together with the 96mm P&Cs, and you have Jake's 2270cc kit.

Warning: If you autocross/time trial/etc. your car, or were thinking of doing it, displacement changes will usually put you into the highly-modified classes with the "big buck" crowd.

I have never had to clearance a 1.7 case for 2.0 pieces to swap into....

Our 2270 is a heck of alot more than just a 78 stroke crank and 96 pistons and etc...It features our custom, OEM modified cylinders, OUR web cam, and everything, including hardware and everything thing to do it right...

Sorry, Jake. I mis-spoke; I meant that one would have the same displacement as your kit, not that one would have the whole kit.
