Front sway bar will a 911 bar work?
Howdy.
Well in the next month I am going to be upgrading my 88 911 to adjustable sway bars. So I am wondering if my front sway off of the 911 will work on the front of my 1973 914?

It will work only if you use the 911 A-arms on your 914, or find a way to successfully fake up the attachments on the A-arms. The way the bars hook to the arms is significantly different between the 914 through-body style (also used in almost all adjustable 911 front bars) and the stock 911 under-body bar.
A little welding can fix that, but you'd need brackets from a donor car. The only aftermarket brackets I know of are for the through-body type bar. --DD

Thanks Dave.
In the end I guess I am better off buying the correct bar. I do know that on my A arms I have brackets on the top for installation of a sway bar. For the through-body I guess. After cornering this car without a swaybar, and lift is really not that bad in day to day but AX corners there is much, I am looking forward to doing this project. ![]()
