Can your 914 tail-shift like this?
http://vids.myspace.com/index.cfm?fuseaction=vids.individual&VideoID=3857370
Have been in contact with this guy, who posted a how-to for 914 tail shifting cable conversion (super nice guy) http://www.etischer.com/914cableshift.html He states that the difference is night and day. Has anyone on this board built a set-up similar to his, and will any ebay cable shifter set up work (honda, toyota, eclipse)? Thanks

From the video it does seem to have shorter throws, but hard to tell if it is smoother or not. Any improvement to a tail shifter is good.
I don't think there is enough info on this "how-to" site to really build one yourself. I'd like to see all the pieces layed out and photographed in detail.

My tailshifter works great! All I did was replace it with one of those $89 shortshift kits, new bushings and an adjustment with the linkage. Before I fixed it you could not drive it without appearing drunk.
