Question Lighting Problem

Three out of the four parking lights are on with the ignition on !. Lights/ switch work normally, but with the ignition on or car running 3 of the lights are on.(full bright, not partial like a weak ground would give) I've replaced headlight switch, cleaned contacts and grounds, pulled the steering column and checked connections, still stumped. Any advice would be appreciated. Its a 1970, Thanks.

I assume that you do not have the light switch on and 3 lights are burning (which one is not). Could be a problem in the turn signal switch.

I assume you are using a Haynes manual as a reference???

The earlier electrical drawings are not so good, but the later years are and they are very similar to the '70 wiring.

Don't assume that a bad ground would cause the lights to be "weak"... This sounds a lot like a bad ground or wires mis-connected to me...

Did it start doing this all at once? If so, what happened to the car just before? Bodywork? (I hate body shops--I have yet to find one that I think is fully competent.) Replaced a bulb? Took out a taillight to clean it up? Other?
