				Type IV torgue values

I am fixing all the vacuum leaks that have developed over in the intake for my (new to me) 912E's L-Jetronic FI......

I don't have a 914 or Type IV manual so I'm not sure how much to torgue the manifold/head studs now that I'm putting it all back together...(new sleeves, lg & sm inj. seals, int. manf. gaskets, epoxy small crack in the plenum box, clean up the throttle body, repaint intakes, new fuel & vacuum lines,etc.etc.) Can someone help me ??? I'm guessing 15 lb.s, but I really don't want to guess.... THANKS GREG

I checked Haynes' and Hussey's 700 Tech Tips and can't find anything for the manifold studs.

Lotsa luck...I replaced everything you replaced and still seem to have a vacuum leak.

Standard 8mm torque, 13-15#. I use 13 on questionable fasteners and 15 when I know that everything's perfect.

			The manifold nuts are M6, not M8. I'd go with 10 lb-ft.

![]() The studs that hold the manifolds to the head are 8x.125. 15ft/lbs is the proper torque spec for them....

Oh, heck!! I was thinking of the nuts that hold the injectors in--D'OH! Yes, the manifold nuts are M8.

WE can always rely on the 914 fixit gru. Come to think of it, Clay does look like Mike Myers.
