Just installed the license plate lights on the rear bumper rubber. They worked after hooking them up. But, when I mounted them to the rubber, I am blowing fuses like crazy! I presume the dark color knode on the light is negitive and the other positive? Is this correct? Any help or hints will be greatly appreciated!!!

The brown should be ground. Best to check with a voltmeter or test light.
Make sure you hook the wires up to the proper terminals on the lights themselves! They are not interchangeable. The + lead must go the the terminal connected to the bulb, and the ground must go to the one connected to the metal 'frame' of the lamp. License lights are infamous for grounding to the bumper metal and either melting/burning lenses and wiring, and/or blowing fuses. They are a bit of a PITA. ------------------ Chris C. 73 914 2.0 70 911E Targa campbell.chris@gte.net [This message has been edited by campbellcj (edited 11-05-2001).] |

Try removing the bulb, then checking for continuity between the two inputs and the mounting screws. One should have continiuty, and one not. The one that does is the one that gets hooked to the brown ground wire.
