Question about re-installing engine & engine tin

I'm getting really good at pulling engines bur I have never re-installed one.

I'm finishing up my 2.0 (which will replace my 1.8) and I am currently having all the engine tin powder coated. One thing I notice is that when ever I remove an engine the outer tin pieces get a little hung up hear-and-there and there may be some minor bending - I'm hoping to avoid this with my newly powder coated tin.

I'm wondering if it would be easier to add the outer tin pieces after the engine is fully installed or is it common to install every thing first and then install the engine. I also will be installing all new engine compartment weather stripping.

The same questions for the heat exchangers, and associated tin pieces (i.e., j-tubes, elbows, etc..

Any advice from the experts would be appreciated. Thanks...........Vern

Installing an engine w/o tin is much easier but of course you'll be spending time bent over installing it later. There are some pieces that are a ***** to get on with the engine in the car, like the front tin section. I would install the tin on the engine than stick it in the car.
