2 Liter 914 Engine Identification
Please refresh my memory as to tell a 2liter engine at a glance. Air filter shape and position perhaps? I am looking at a car for sale by picture and I want to make sure it truely has a 2.0 in it before I make a trek. Thanks, Pete

Might be tough to tell from a picture unless it's very specific. Can you ask the owner what the engine serial number is? 2 liters start with GA or GB.

GC, also.
The throttle body will be vertical, and sit on top of the intake plenum. The spark plugs will go through holes in the vertical sides of the engine tin, not in the horizontal top part. The intake runner pipes will be held onto the heads by three studs, rather than four. --DD

The Air Cleaner will be rectangular with a boat nose end over the throttle body.
