I am looking at a 914 in MI. Can anyone decode the vin number for vehicle details?

47 = 914-4
1 = 1971 model year 29 = Karmann factory 10258 = series number. All of the 71s would have been 1.7s with D-jetronic EFI. You can't tell much other than the model year from the VIN... --DD

I'm not 100%, but I thought the "29" was factory code for - "will rust once exposed to water"
 Kidding.. sorta..
