Tunnel picture needed...
Model; 1974 914 1.8. If anyone out there could post a photo of the top of the center tunnel, between the seats, with the carpet/storage box removed it would be of great help to me. My car has had a couple of small sections of rear floor replaced (under the seats), and when the work was done (I assume) the wire harness was damaged. There is also a strange looking "dip" in the top of the tunnel (it looks like the tunnel was cut open, and then the cut section was pushed down into the tunnel and re-welded), and the fuel lines run under that. I need to verify that the tunnel is the original shape, and I need to know what the wire harness looks like so I get it right when I repair it. Thanks in advance!

What you mention sounds like it may be stock. There is a cross-member and the wiring harness does get threaded underneath it.
Sorry, no pics at the moment. --DD

Thanks guys. Yes, the recessed section is between the cross member and the firewall, and appears to be the trough for the harness. It just looked crude enough that I was wondering if a PO had gotten in there with a welding torch and started to do something, and then decided not to!
Paul, the area in question is under the black bracket/support on your center tunnel.
