looking for information on gas heater

Anybody have any ideas on heating a 914 for winter driving in denver.I found a gas heater in denver, But no one to install it.Also should a stock heater work at all.

The stock heater can work quite decently when in good shape. Switching to SSI exchangers and a dual-outlet heater blower (one type was used on 70-72 cars, another was used on 75-76 cars) will result in heat that can melt your toes. The 914 cabin is a pretty small space, so it doesn't need that much heat to warm up.

Evidently there was an accessory gas heater made for the 914, possibly by Eberspacher. We have seen pics of some of its parts on the 914world BBS, but last I heard nobody had gotten ahold of a complete system. There was talk of adapting a Type I (Bug) heater, but I don't know if anything came of that.

We had one in our VW Bus.. which has a much larger interior than a 914 Assuming its not too cold to get some engine heat, the 914 heater works pretty well for its small cabin.
