Without pictures of which wire is where in the car, I'm just guessing.

Green wire sounds like it's for the heater fan.

Use the "Post Reply" button rather than just typing in the "quick reply" pane. Just under the typing area on that window you'll find "Click here to Upload a Photo..." Click that, and you can upload a photo.

Make sure the image isn't too large (if it's larger than 2 MB on the disk you will need to use a graphics program of some kind to re-size it). When you click "Upload Now", the image file will be uploaded from your computer onto the BBS and a picture link will be inserted into the post.

Like this:

Can you describe where those first group of wires are? And what year is your 914?

On the 73 diagram, I don't see any blue/yellow wires. The closest seems to be a blue/white wire, which goes from the flasher relay to the turn signal indicators in the tach.

Black/yellow could deal with the horn, or with the brake lights.

Red/white is switched power, and goes to a lot of different components in the car, especially up under the dash.

There's a plain green wire in the engine bay that powers the heater blower fan. There's another up under the dash that carries the fuel level signal.

The green/white could deal with the windshield wipers.

If the green wire by the console has a white stripe, it's the signal for the oil temp gauge.

The four-wire connector sounds like power and ground for the center console gauges.

The two grey, black, black/white carries (among other things) the illumination for the center console gauges. The grey wires actually plug into black/blue wires (on a 74 at least), which confused the heck out of me on my car at first!

Pretty sure the first picture are the connectors in the center tunnel for the center console gauges. If you don't have the center console gauges, don't worry about the connectors. just leave them be.

The other pictures don't help me. I need context as to where they are on the car. I just see wires and some sheet metal. Pull the camera back.

don't put that piece of graph paper behind them to shoot the picture either ...

Its doing the opposite of what you thinking .. its blocking the surroundings and creating a glare ... I know your thinking it would make the picture clearer but its not ...

We need just a clear shot, no fuzzy and if you have auto focus make sire its focusing on the wires ...
I have a 73 in the garage and I have the wiring diagrams ... Jared may beat me to the answer .. but if you can get a clear shot I am sure one of us can help you ....

So what year is this car again? It does make some difference.

The green/white wire actually looks to be white/green to me, which also makes a difference.

From the 74 wiring diagrams, there are several green/white wires, but only one white/green wire. That one goes to the parking lights indicator, in the tach I believe.

I can't make out the colors or the location of the round connector at all.

There are a few things that are different between the 74 and 75 wiring diagrams. Check your Haynes manual for the 75 diagrams. (Don't have it? Get it HERE! You need one, and it's cheap.)

The round connector may very well be for the cat/EGR warning lights. There is a module in the passenger footwell (in the foam block) that counts the miles and then turns on the warning light after a certain distance. I think I remember that there was a round plug for that.

Picture two is for the center console. Dont worry about it if you dont have the center console gauges.

Picture one might go to the controls for the fresh air fan

Picture 1: I'm thinking the gauges. The black/white/yellow should be the wire for Das Blinkenlight in the combo gauge--the brake warning light. Blue would be the alternator warning light, but green would be the fuel gauge sender (I think). Red/white is switched power that gets run to pretty much all of the gauges.

Pic 2: Center console stuff. Still not sure what that round connector is, though!!
