I love my wife even more than my 914! They are really similar I've noticed though. When I get home from work I always have a list of projects that must be done. When I go in the garage it's the same. I must admit sometimes the garage gets first dibs. When I get upset with my wife she gets pissed at me & 1 way or another makes me regret ever having been upset in the first place. When I get upset with my 914 & scream at it it doesn't really scream back. It just laughs & says I'm really gonna screw you now. It is a strange phenomenon. When I show my wife my appreciation of her she beams. When I show my appreciation for my 914 & take it for a loving drive. She just tells me I don't deserve to drive her yet. Usually making me call the wife to come tow me home. I guess it's a good combination because when I'm pissed at one I can usually take it out on the other. That strategy sucks by the way. Do not use it with your wife! Although when the stars align just right I can take both out for a lovely drive. As we drive to dinner with the top down Things get a little cold so we throw on the top. Pull up to stop light have little kid in a ricer reving engine. Decide to have a little fun. Wife gets mad , car goes dead & the cycle starts again!

Jamie, Why don't you post some of the 914 stories that were submitted at the meet? Mine sucked but atleast I wrote something....and I now belong to the broken axcel cable leaving you stranded club...BACLYSC!
I heard lots of good stories sitting there eating pizza mostly from JP and Jim the only other autoxer's in the group. I guess we were a lonely group and had to sit together! Are you going to come to PIR to race sometime?? I am going down to PIR sometime this summer probably after I get back from South America. Geoff

"The only other autoXers in the group"?? I beg to differ!!
Let's see, I could tell about trying to drive Tobias Olney's 3.6 914-6 in a "fun run". Or I could mention driving my buddy's 911SC and how very different his brakes are from the 914's. Or maybe I could just tell my two "weather" stories--the first of which earned me my "Damp Dave" nickname. (Though it's easy to guess the gist of it from just reading that.) ![]() --DD

I would like to autoX sometime. Unfotunately my car doesn't want to run long enough for me to get comfortable to try. Depending on what route I go with my '75 I just bought it might be a better option. Trying too decide between doing a 6 or just building a better type1V. It is possible I might be able to have that going in less than a month. The only thing to hold me back is the money & my wonderful wife! So hopefully you'll see me at some autoX soon

Did you even get any pizza Dave?? You were so busy counting up the votes in the corner! I didn't get a chance to talk to you at all.
JP,Jim and I were sitting there talking autox BS the whole time. Well, I was mostly listening to JP and his stories of how fast he was, just missing TTOD and all that......plus how much fun a six is, gosh the Jake Raby guy sure like to work on dirty motors....... Geoff

Did JP tell you about the PIR autox on May 19th, when he loaned his car to the race organizer to make a run with. Never been in the car and bettered JPs time by 5 seconds or so.
JP doe's have a really nice looking car, wish he could have driven it downto Jamies this past weekend. Geoff hope to see you down here again. Jim Chambers said that someone offered to put together antoher 914 meet in Beavercreek??Anybody know about that? Craig C. Laughlin CAMP 914 |

I will come down to a PIR event in July after I get back from South America with Monique. I know I should be able to beat Jim C atleast! This was the first car event Monique has been to and she had a blast. She thought JP and Jim C were funny with all their stories. She liked your car Craig alot cuz it wuz Yellow but her favorite was the silver 9146. I have finally talked her out of adding flairs to the car. She saw Brad Anders car and loved 'em.
She also liked the way we drove in a big pack and how everybody was waving at us. How come all you others guys don't show up at the PIR autox? At the Bremerton PCA autox there are usually 10-14 914's running mostly in stock or GTU. JP when are you coming up? Leeds G. knows tons about 9146's and could give you some help on setting up the car and driving it. Craig you should come up too and meet all the guys here and run. Geoff
