Door handle repair piece

What piece do I need? Pelican has the cam, which isn't the problem. I've seen the outer flap, but that is intact?

I know I'll probably need a new Pivot (which I've seen in the Tweeks catalog).

They mention a Slider for the Outer Door Handle, but they don't have a picture.

Can't seem to find the appropriate piece on Pelican.

Auto Atlanta's (cough!) web site sucks for finding stuff.

Or am I stick getting an entire new/used handle?

Thanks,

You guys need new handles or a used doner handle for parts. The part that is broken is part of the main body of the handle.

Back when I was in college and had a lot of time on my hands, I made a piece to fix this type of break. I used two pieces of aluminum angle, cut, filed and drilled a hole for the pin. It has worked for the last 15 years. I'll try to post a picture.

So the picture is not that great, but you can see I used two aluminum angles to form a "U" shape. Drilled a hole for the pivot pin and filed the aluminum until it fit in the door. Took some time as I had one file and I worked at in my dorm room. (I had more time than money than.) I used the spring and plastic bushings from the broken handle. Total cost about $3.00. I tried to sell them but couldn't get the word out to enough people. No Web back than.

Let me know if you want to see more pictures and I'll take the handle off the door for some better shots.

Sounds like URY's fix is about it. I sincerely doubt you'll find a repair piece for this break--as Anthony said, that's part of the main body of the handle. The "slider" that Tweeks lists is the same as the "cam" that we list.

Or buy James' old ones. Or new ones from us!! (Yeah, well... Ya can't blame a large-billed seabird for trying!)

I had the same problem with my passanger side door handle. So I called Darren at Pelican. And he sent me a used but rebuilt one for $27.00. I'ts not show quality, but at least it will work. I ordered it yesterday, and got it in the mail today!

We sell a billet aluminum piece that fits perfect and only requires 10 minutes of your time to install. Tools needed are: allen wrench for the counter sunk flat headed bolt that goes through the original hole and uses a 11mm nut on the backside (factory used a 10mm nut).

We sell them for 20$

877-914-4YOU Toll Free

We have probably installed over 200 of these for our customers.

You dont even have to remove the handle. Just the broken piece.
